Artist Statement

I went to take some things to his house but no one was there except him. He grabbed me into his room and locked the door. I started to scream but no one could hear me, 'cause no one was there. I still don't know what happened. He is a neighbour, 19 years old; he has another woman who gave birth in December. He has disappeared. I found out about my pregnancy already 6 months into it. He said he would hurt me if I spoke, so I didn't tell anyone. I am in grade 4 and I used to like to play with dolls. I have given them all away, now I have a son. A photo documentary done in Caracas, Venezuela, during March-April 2000.
